whale shark research vessel based in khao lak thailand

Whale shark research expedition scholarships are available to those in need

Whale Sharks research in the Andaman Sea is conducted from our "mighty" vessel. She is equipped with just about everything we need - except hammocks!

Safety and comfort are two of our most important standards. While this is not pure luxury, nor is it "shabby chic" - it's a very functional boat that serves us very well.

With GPS, Life Vests and our dinghy, you find that safety is part of the standard routine. Depth gauges, Oxygen tanks and masks in addition to a very thorough First Aid kit adds to our repotoire. Finally the largest part of our safety standards - our staff! Trained by our partner - Diver Safety - we have the most highly trained staff in Thailand. All staff are certified in DAN First Aid, Oxygen for diving accidents, Hazardous Marine Life Injuries, AED use and even Neurological exams! You'll not find a group of staff as thoroughly trained in all of SE Asia.
